Lindsays Profile

Lindsay began her competitive riding career as a Three Day Event Rider, switching to Dressage in the early 1990’s. As an Eventer, Lindsay trained and rode for over a number of years with Henrietta Knight.

Lindsay made her international dressage debut in 1993 riding the Lippizana mare Felicia under the guidance and tutelage of the National Trainer Ferdi Eilberg.

In the mid 90’s Lindsay gained the opportunity to take on Ferdi’s former Grand Prix ride the Danish stallion Tapster, sadly this was to be a short career as Tapster passed away in May 1997. However in their short time they enjoyed success at home and abroad and with European Championship qualifying marks to their name were invited to compete in Italy in 1997 just before Tapster’s untimely death.

During Lindsay’s time as a pupil of Ferdi she enjoyed international success with the Oldenburg mare Pikanja, winning as far away as the CDIO in Warsaw, and gaining three top places in the Vienna CDI.

In October 2005 Lindsay began training with German professional trainer Ingo Menze based in Frankfurt, having worked and trained for a number of years with Herbert Boger in the north of Germany. Lindsay has spent many weeks throughout previous winters in Germany with her horses, commuting from home and maintaining her own teaching commitments and training establishment in England.

Having acquired the Capitol 1 grandson Chipati five years ago Lindsay has not been blessed with much fortune only being able to compete him once!

Lindsay has a new horse to compete, Senorita, who is a 10 year old Hanoverian mare by Segunas, out of a Wenzel 1 mare. Senorita is one of the most exciting younger horses Lindsay has ridden for some time and is a half sister to the German Team horse Potomac. Having competed in her first International competition at Small Tour, she has now made her debut on the Continent in a low key Grand Prix.

It is hoped that 2010 will prove to be the year that Lindsay is back as a genuine contender for Grand Prix honours and she expects to spend some time this winter training in Germany in preparation (though much less than in the past).

Lindsay’s ability to help others has derived from her own very solid training foundation having trained with Henrietta Knight and Ferdi Eilberg.

Aside from riding, Lindsay is also a List 1 Dressage Judge, FEI Event Judge, and an accredited Trainer with British Dressage.
